The APC Smart-UPS 1400 XL rack mount 3U is an extended runtime model. This UPS can have external battery packs attached to allow for a significant increase in runtime. It is a modular UPS providing the ability to expand as the need arises.
For example, the SU1400RMXL3U with a load of 100W will provide a runtime of approximately 2hrs and 19minutes. Once a SU24RMXLBP2U battery pack is attached, the runtime available becomes approximately 7hrs and 50minutes. If two battery packs are attached, the runtime becomes approximately 13hrs and 40minutes. Each battery pack attached provides a significant increase in runtime available on the UPS.
