The APC Smart-UPS X 1500VA is APC's new extended run time model. This is the newer version of the older XL units that allowed external battery packs to be added for extra run time. The SMX1500RM2UNC functions very much the same way. Additional battery packs (pn: SMX48RMBP2U) can be added to increase the run time. For example, with a load of 150W the SMX1500RM2U will provide 90 minutes of run time. The same 100W load on the SMX1500RM2U with a SMX48RMBP2U will provide a run time of 309 minutes. A significant increase in run time.
This particular edition, the SMX1500RM2UNC comes with an AP9631 management card. The AP9631 is the newest web/snmp management card available. It will allow remote management of the Smart-UPS X 1500VA through a network.
