The APC Smart-UPS XL 24V Battery Pack is an extended runtime option for the APC Smart-UPS XL units. By adding one of these battery packs to an APC Smart-UPS XL the runtime on the UPS can be increased significantly.

For example, an APC Smart-UPS 700XL by itself will provide a runtime of 1hr and 24min with a load of 200W. If the SU24XLBP battery pack is added, with a 200W load, the runtime becomes 5hrs and 16mins. That is an increase of 3 hours and 52 minutes! The battery packs can be cascaded in order to achieve a much higher runtime.

Installation is very simple! Plug and play. No setup of any kind required. The external battery packs plug into the grey interlock connector on the bottom left side of the UPS.
