APC's PowerChute software, available free of charge on APC's website, provides extended features and abilities to enhance the effectiveness and usefulness of this UPS.

The APC Smart-UPS 750XL is an extended runtime model. It is able to have battery packs added to it to provide an extended runtime. It is modular, and can be expanded as the need arises. Please click on this link to open the extended runtime option window. In this window you can see the effect a load will have on the UPS with any number of battery packs.
The APC Smart-UPS 750XL can have SUA24XLBP external battery packs attached to it. As an example, if you had a 100W load on this UPS with 4 external battery packs attached, you would have a runtime of 30 hours and 28 minutes. If you only had one external battery pack and a 100W load, you would have a runtime of 9 hours and 45 minutes. The external battery pack extends the runtime of the UPS signifiantly.
